After 14 years of no exercise (age 33) I have taken the leap and joined a gym with the aim to develop lean muscle mass and cardio health. The personal trainer is advising supplements and a multi vitamin. I eat healthily and prefer not to take artificial supplements, protein shakes and energy bars!

Is a natural diet possible? All I seem to hear about is Whey powder and Creatine. What are the food options available.

What are good supplements for adding lean muscle?

I am 6'3" and 175lbs and have been lifting off and on for a few years. I've determined that I really need to add some supplements to my diet in order to add muscle as muscle building isn't easy for me. I think my lean body type is hereditary as my grandfather had the same build as me his entire life.

I tried creatine and don't like how it makes me feel. What are some other options for me? I really want to to get into a serious routine and make dramatic changes over the next year or two.
